Reports on the US and Iran Bilateral Meeting
Oct 26, 2012
As the White House stated over the weekend, it is not true that the United States and Iran have agreed to one-on-one talks or meetings now or after the elections. The United States continues to work with our P5+1 partners on a dual track approach to persuade Iran to come into compliance with its international obligations regarding its nuclear program and have said from the outset that we would be prepared to meet bilaterally. We believe that there is still time and space for a diplomatic resolution, though that window will not be open indefinitely. The onus is on the Iranian regime to come in line with its international obligations.
